The match
Ghana are back in the FIFA World Cup™ for the fifth time and will be eager to get off to a winning start in light of their last two appearances at the global finals, which resulted in group-stage exits at Brazil 2014 and Qatar 2022. The Black Stars were enormously impressive in qualifying, cruising to a first-place finish in Group I of the CAF preliminaries and will be looking to continue that against a Panama side in their second World Cup. Los Canaleros debuted on the big stage at Russia 2018, but departed with three defeats. However, a squad that has emerged as the top side in Central America and topped Group A in Concacaf qualifying have the wares to make some noise in North America.

Toronto Stadium was purpose-built as Canada hosted the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2007™. The venue, which has an English Premier League-style roof canopy and steep stands on either end of the ground, has been confirmed as the venue for Canada's opening World Cup 2026 fixture on Friday, 12 June, and will host four further group games and one Round of 32 tie.
